Task: This assessment task requires you to:
1- Identify 5 communication skills that are important for your area of study and discuss why these skills are important.
2- Seek feedback from someone you interact with regularly concerning the communication skills you have identified. This feedback needs to identify the strengths and areas of development concerning your communication skills.
3- Write about the feedback you received and how you can use this to enhance your communication skills within your area of study.
Presentation:The paper must be typed on a word processor; contain an introduction that outlines the logical structure of your paper; and contain a conclusion that critically reflects on the implications of your paper.
Assessment criteria:The essay will be assessed according to the following criteria:
· Ability to identify the communication skills relevant to your area of study and discuss why these skills are important (40%)
· Evidence of an emerging ability to critically reflect on the feedback received and identify strategies to improve communication skills (40%)
· Clarity of expression and adherence to essay writing standard (flow, logic, punctuation, grammar and spelling (10%)
· Evidence of wide reading (use of no less than 8 academic references) and adherence to referencing standards (APA). At least 3 of these will be from the unit materials. (10%)
