Application to Health Care – Nursing Assignment

In this task you will reflect on your knowledge and understanding of family strengths and recognise how families contribute to the overall health outcomes of a child or young person.

Part A: First you will deliver a 2-minute, in class oral presentation. You will choose an object (artefact) that, in your opinion, represents family. For example, it could be a BBQ tool that reminds you of family gatherings and the strength of the relationships that you have with your kin. The artefact presentation is intended as an opportunity for shared learning. Task 1A is a formative task that supports your learning in preparation for Task 1B. No grades for this formative assessment are associated with your overall course grade.

Part B: You will write a 750-word assignment that has a course weighting of 20%. In this part of Task 1, you will review the concept of family as it is reflected in contemporary society. You will need to describe family strengths as a framework and discuss how the family strengths framework can be applied as an approach in healthcare practice.
