Literature Review Article Search
Finding literature related to your research topic can be challenging. Earlier researchers were required to hand search for hours through journals in multiple libraries to find appropriate resources. Today, electronic libraries such as Walden University’s can provide access to scholarly documents within minutes.
To prepare for this Discussion:

• Finalize your research topic based on the comments from your colleagues in Week 1.
• Review this week’s Learning Resources for library assistance.

By Day 4, post a comprehensive response pertaining to your selected research topic including:

• Keywords for searching the literature (See the learning resource at http://academicguides.waldenu.edu/library/keyword.)
• Boolean operators to assist in your search (See the learning resource at http://academicanswers.waldenu.edu/a.php?qid=420556.)
• Databases to search for current literature (See the learning resource at http://library.waldenu.edu/689.htm.)
• Professional journals that are likely to provide relevant literature (Search the Internet and library.)
• Name at least two organizations that might fund your research. (Search the Internet and/or refer to your Week 2 Learning Resources.)

Read a selection of your colleagues’ postings.
By Day 6, respond to at least one of your colleagues’ postings in one or more of the following ways:

• Ask a probing question.
• Expand on the colleague’s posting with additional insight and resources.
• Offer polite disagreement or critique, supported with evidence.

In addition, you may also respond as follows:

• Offer and support an opinion.
• Validate an idea with your own experience.
• Make a suggestion or comment that guides or facilitates the Discussion.

Return to this Discussion in a few days to read the responses to your initial posting. Note what you have learned and/or any insights you have gained as a result of your colleagues’ comments. You are not required to post these final insights.
