The purpose of this two part activity is to apply the theory about language development and literacy learning for young children to classroom practice by doing a critical review of curriculum and assessment related to the domains we have studied, including phonological awareness, semantic knowledge, syntactic knowledge, morphemic knowledge, and pragmatic knowledge.
Part 2: Curriculum and Assessment Review
Using the Matrix, review what language domains are covered (or not covered) in the curriculum. In your review provide a synthesis and evaluation of the curriculum, based on the reading from the course and outside sources, for ways that the identified curriculum and assessment can be further enhanced to foster robust learning experiences across all the domains.
